“Una Comunità Animata” is a cultural and recreational initiative now in its fourth edition, promoted by Municipio 7 in collaboration with Hines, Equa Cooperativa Sociale, and Rete QuBì 7 — organisations that have been active in Milan and the surrounding area for over 30 years, designing educational, social-educational, and care services to support family wellbeing in the neighbourhood.
A well-established fixture in the city’s summer programme, the project has welcomed over 1,000 participants across its four editions.
The project was created to encourage inclusive and intergenerational relationships through a shared journey of care and connection with the local area. Engaging and playful activities become moments of joy for the entire community, promoting values such as respect and togetherness.
This year’s edition once again featured a rich calendar of creative workshops for children and young people, alongside a variety of activities designed for the over-65s – all with the aim of fostering social interaction and dialogue across generations.
The programme also included many events dedicated to sport, street theatre, and circus arts — offering fun and meaningful ways to strengthen community bonds.
A full programme of events welcomed participants of all ages. Seniors in the neighbourhood led puppet-making workshops using recycled materials, culminating in public performances.
Near the Equa Cooperativa Sociale educational centre, flower beds and ornamental plants were planted, while inside the centre, a small vegetable garden was started to promote environmental awareness and shared responsibility among children.
The programme also featured a variety of creative workshops in the neighbourhood and in Parco delle Cave, along with storytelling sessions, music, physical activities, and inclusive team games made even more dynamic through the collaboration with the Urania basketball team.
